Doodle kid

I've been so focused on getting my storyboard to a point where I feel comfortable leaving it for the two weeks I'll be away, that I haven't had much time to draw anything else. I grabbed a doodle from Cup'O'Doodle, to give me a bit of inspiration.

Tardar Sauce

My wife and I love Tardar Sauce, the grumpy cat, so I sketched this guy for her.

Dr. Sketchy's: A Flapper in Crime

Had a blast last night at Dr. Sketchy's, A Flapper in Crime, with the lovely Lola Frost modeling in...and out, of film noir garb, to some era appropriate tunes, and audio excerpts from such classic noir films as Double Indemnity, and The Third Man. Highly recommended for anyone in the Vancouver area...or anywhere else they have Dr. Sketchy's:)

Ghostbusters

I follow Cup O' Doodle, but have not asked for, nor been given permission to post on their blog...I was compelled to explore a couple of the recent doodles, though, so here they are.

Happy Halloween...part 2!

This was a commission I recently finished for my friend Rachel, featuring her boyfriend Shane and his roommate Mike, facing a horde of Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves, douche-bags, and countless other movie monsters, riding atop magnificent critters! It's not only the rare occasion that I've bothered to clean up a drawing, but also the first time I've drawn s this many figures in one image, AND the first time I've put myself in a drawing...(besides stupid self caricatures).

Happy Halloween!

Here are a couple Halloween-E critters...probably my several hundredth wolfman, and a very benign pumpkinhead:)

Yay, Learning!

While cleaning up a commissioned piece for a friend of mine, I customized one of my sketchbook brushes...I know that's nothing for the technologically savvy, but I'm as close to a luddite as one can be, while still working on a computer for a living. Anyway, I think I've found my new clean-up brush! As I cannot post the commission yet, here's a quick sketch, cleaned up with my customized brush.

Dr. Sketchy's

Going to the Dr. Sketchy's in Vancouver, a couple weeks ago, reminded me how important it is to make life drawing a regular part of your practice, regardless of your experience:)

More of my pups

Everybody gets tattoos of their dogs...don't they?..well, normally it'd be portraits, so I figured I should get caricatures of my pups. I've been set on Buttons pose for years (I think the original sketch was one of my first posts!), but Muttley has been harder to capture.
